Compliance with Space Standards

Watt & Well’s Space activities operate in compliance with international quality and reliability standards specific to the Space industry and to the client requirements. The quality management systems are certified according to space-specific standards such as ISO 9001 and EN9100, ensuring a high level of traceability and quality. Engineering processes are based on ECSS standards.

Design choices are made and justified according to the customer and our engineering processes are also based on ECSS standards. Our dependability team can run FMEA, FTA, and safety analysis, as well as reliability analysis according to FIDES 2009.

Component Quality Management

Quality management begins early in the design phase with the choice of components. Our approach is to maximize the use of automotive components, to minimize the recurring costs of our design. To facilitate this, we select and qualify automotive components to meet space constraints.

Software Quality Assurance

Watt & Well has a strong in-house software and FPGA (field-programmable gate array) team developing space designs according to ECSS standards. A continuous integration environment enables source control and verification (unit testing including the coverage and functional testing). Automated reports generation provides daily metrics, including coding/design rules check results, coverage results, unit test results and functional test results.

Project Quality Assurance

Projects are managed according to our quality management system standards and procedures. A development plan is initiated and maintained during all project phases covering planning, organization, breakdown structure, and project review. It also includes risk and opportunity management, cost control, product and quality assurance, configuration management, ethics and compliance.
