Our solutions.

Our product range includes AC/DC and DC/DC converters for unidirectional and bidirectional fast chargers, Supply Equipment Communications Controllers (SECC), and Electric Vehicle Charging Controllers (EVCC).

While our modules are primarily designed for DC charging stations, we also offer solutions for various applications such as Energy Stationary Storage (ESS), Mobile Energy Storage (MES) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G).

Applications.

EV charging Infrastructure

To charge an EV battery, the alternating current (AC) – typically 230 VAC and 50 Hz in Europe from the network grid must be converted to direct current (DC). When EV is plugged into the AC grid, the conversion is done by the converter embedded within the car. When the EV is plugged into a DC outlet, the power conversion is embedded within a charging station.

As the price of batteries decreases, car manufacturers increase battery capacity:  they increasingly offer a longer driving range (>400 km) and faster charging options (up to 350 kW). The EV fast charging infrastructure then becomes essential to increase the EV market. Watt & Well is providing power modules and Supply Equipment Communication Controllers (SECC) that are critical subsystems of DC charging stations.

Smart Grid Energy Stationary Storage (ESS), Mobile Energy Storage (MES) and V2G

Smart grid technologies are an alternative to the replacement or reinforcement of electric grids. Solutions such as Energy Stationary Storage (ESS), Mobile Energy Storage (MES) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) provide flexible and distributed energy buffers to help integrate renewable energy sources and better manage the grids.

Both ESS, MES and V2G require bidirectional AC/DC converters to charge and discharge the batteries in the grids. At Watt & Well we are committed to participate in the ESS/MES/V2G ecosystem by providing high performance bidirectional charging modules to manage the flow of energy from the batteries to the grid and deliver the widest range of energy services. If you are involved in ESS projects which require innovative power electronics systems, we would be very pleased to partner with you.

We can also provide Electric Vehicle Communication Controller (EVCC) to be integrated in systems that need to be charged according to CCS protocol such as Energy Storage System, Electric Vehicle, electric truck, electric boat and could be also used to recharge a mobile battery at a DC charging point.

Commitment to EVSE Performance

Watt & Well is committed to supporting customers in deploying and maintaining high-availability EVSEs. We offer three levels of software maintenance: Basic, Standard, and Premium. All these offers entitle you to the benefits of preventive actions such as software updates and periodic testing on vehicles to verify conformity and interoperability of the solutions.

Standard and Premium software maintenance also entitles you to the benefits of corrective actions, performance monitoring, and improvement processes.

A Key Performance Indicator (KPI), defined as the proportion of charging sessions that end successfully compared to the last 100 charging sessions initiated on the EVSE, is monitored each week to track performance.

The service level agreement (SLA) for the Standard or Premium software maintenance agreement establishes the maximum time required to take corrective action as explained in the table below.

Warranty extension services
