Our product architecture, which is based on automotive components, incurs lower costs whilst ensuring the environmental resistance and reliability essential for the constrained environment of Space.

Motor controllers

We have developed and mastered simulation models of motors and inverters, control algorithms and power stages. This experience covers motor control drivers that can drive synchronous and asynchronous motors from a few watts to one hundred kilowatts.

Controllers can operate with a resolver or hall effect sensors but also without sensors in sensor-less mode. Depending on the requirements, our controllers can regulate position, speed, torque (using field-oriented control), or power.

Fail-operational Systems

This expertise includes the elaboration of Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) strategies, with adequate architecture to prevent common-mode failure. Our designs use fault containment regions, GUARDS architecture and synchronous modular redundancy to reach reliability results without external redundancy.

Watt & Well Space products can detect their own failure, inform upper systems, and reconfigure themselves rapidly to avoid any functional perturbation.

Power Supplies

Watt & Well has strong expertise in topology selection, passive and active selection, magnetics design, and regulation design. Our engineering team can overcome all the aerospace constraints and challenges of conception: reliability, environment, weight, and thermal management.
